I am doing fine. My name is Kristy Griffin. I am 28 yrs old. Married for almost 3 yrs. I have a 10 yr old daughter from my first marriage. We have a Miniature Schnauzer named Ally. She is just like another child to us. I love writing and being on Facebook. But I also hang out with family and friends. Text to friends and I babysit my niece and nephew during the week.
If you have to describe yourself in only 5 words what would they be?

Tell us something about your town, city or country.
My town is small and everyone knows everyone. I live in Saint Joseph, TN in the USA. It’s small but it is home and I love it.
How did you start penpalling? When was that? And why did you decide to start Penpalling?
I wanted some friends to talk to on a more personal level so I went on a free pen pal website and found a couple. But since I was on Facebook quite a bit I found some penpal groups on there and I joined and got more and I even made my own pen pal group. I love making new friends and hearing of others lives. I first started getting penpals in October of 2010.
What do you like / dislike about Penpalling/correspondence?
I like making new friends and learning of different places around the world. What I don’t like is how expensive it can sometimes wind up becoming.
How do your friends react when they discover you are into Penpalling? Are they also into it or they give you the “strange” faces?
My friends don’t have a problem with me penpalling. They are also into it as well and usually that is how we became friends.
Do you still stay in touch with your first penpal? Tell us about your first penpal even if you have lost touch with them. We might be able to help you locate him/her.
My first penpal was Lindsey Hartlaub and we are still in contact. We even text to one another and talk all the time on Facebook. We are very close.
How many Penpals do you have? Where are they from?
I have about 30 penpals right now and they are all over the world. I have most in the USA but I also have some from England, Great Britain, Germany, and Guyana.
Are you searching for new Penpals? If yes, please give us some contact information that we can publish in the magazine so that people can write to you back.
If you would like to become penpals I am only looking for USA at the moment. But you can find me on Facebook. I am the owner of the penpal group “World Pen Pals”. You can find me by searching my name “Kristy Lenise Griffin”.
What are you looking for in a penpal?
I have no preference when it comes to penpals. I love to learn about different places and different people so it doesn’t matter. As long as they are nice and like to write then I will love them.
Where do you find new Penpals from? Do you rely on FBs or Facebook or other websites/blogs.
I find new penpals on Facebook.
Tell us a funny/interesting story from your Penpalling experience?
I haven’t been doing it long enough I suppose to have anything funny or real interesting to say at the moment I’m sorry to say. Maybe in time.
How do you keep track of your mail? Share your tip on how to organize ourselves.
What I did was went out and bought a 3-drawer plastic rolling container that I could put all my letters in one drawer, my envelopes and paper in another, and all the stuff I swap into another one. I also bought rubber-bands to wrap around the letters and I bought an address book to keep all my penpals names and addresses into that way I wouldn’t have to keep looking back to the envelopes for the addresses.
Do you swap things? Do you like sending gifts to friends? If yes, what is the most funny gift you have ever sent/received?
Yes I do swap; I swap FB’s, stationary, stickers, maps, vacations guides, Christian books/materials, and a few other items. The funniest gift I have ever sent was the maps, vacations guides and stickers to one of my penpals and she thought it was a hint and that I was sending her to that place as a prize.
Have you met a penpal? If so, let us know how the meeting went.
I have never met any of my penpals.
What do you usually like writing/reading about in the letters?
I love to write/read about someone’s life and about their families and what they like to do and the usual things that go on in someone’s life.
When it comes to making cute and personal letters, everyone has his/her own style. Tell us your trick how to make a letter/envelope unique? Do you decorate it? If yes, how. Give us some tips on how to make the letters more interesting.
I make my letter unique by putting my own stickers on it and writing and around it. Usually I put a lot of stickers on the outside of the envelope on the front and back.
Where do you buy your stationery supplies from? Do you prefer traditional shops or e-shops? If so, give us some links.
I buy my stationary and other items at the dollar stores or at Target. I go to my local Dollar Tree
